Why is the National Inquirer allowed to print and publish fake articles?
Q. i used to actually think those things were real and they'd scare the mess outta me without me even opening them! i mean have you ever bought one or believed anything on one of their covers?
Asked by Zigzager - Wed Nov 11 18:22:04 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Because of the wonderful first amendment to the constitution. They can pretty much print what they want. Also they make so much money they can factor in how much they get sued and still adjust for profit.

Has anyone seen the inquirer photos of Steve Irwin and the stingray?
Q. In the supermarket I saw the inquirer front page and standing in line I saw 3 pictures that depicted the crocodile hunter with the barb of the stingray tail protruding from his chest. How did they get ahold of any photos? Last reported was that the family was not going to release anything at this time. To me the Crocodile Hunter had became almost as famous as Elvis. He was a great man with such great passion for what he was doing and like his dad said, the animals have lost their best friend. My heart goes out to his family, both immediate and world wide. He will be greatly missed.

Q. With our naked eyes in a brightly lit sky, can one see some of the known planets? Please, name them.
Asked by Kiruga - Tue Nov 6 23:27:17 2007 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn are usually visible even in city skies. Mercury is alway low to the horizon at sunset or sunrise, when it can be seen at all. Venus doesn't get higher than about 40 degrees above the horizon. In dark, rural skies, Uranus is on the threshold of naked-eye visibility, but you have to know where to look. Currently, Jupiter may be low in your south-western sky after sunset (in the US and Europe; in the southern hemisphere it's not so far south). Mars is rising around 11.00pm (not sure of the exact time), and Venus is visible in the couple of hours before sunrise. To tell stars from planets? In most cases, planets don't twinkle, though they may in unsteady air when close to the horizon. They tend to be… [cont.]

Why does this newspaper -Philippine Daily Inquirer always carry corrections and erratum every issue?
Q. Don't they check their facts first before a news be published?
Asked by vibal - Fri Nov 17 00:33:09 2006 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I've read that they've established the Corrections and Erratum box (in either page 4 or 6) as a permanent staple on their newspaper. This is to allow readers/writers to be able to tell the newspaper whichever corrections they need done. It would be worse to not have a permanent corrections box because that means that you're not sure if your concern will be published Posting corrections on a newspaper, in a temporary space, is a hassle because you have to rearrange the layout. A misspelled name or mixed up facts might not be known if there won't be a permanent space in which to put it in. You could make a mistake in a test or be embarrassed in public if you don't get it straight right? Personally, I commend the Philippine Daily Inquirer… [cont.]

Why are the Philadelphia Inquirer running ads for the phillies championship for 2009 merchandise ?
Q. Take a look at this !
Asked by sports123 - Mon Nov 2 11:53:52 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The sports writer for the Philadelphia Inquirer must have watched most of the game, made the assumption they were going to win, and started the ad -to be published in the next day's paper... It is logical for a writer to do this, but not UNTIL they know their ad will be correct! Poor planning. Not to mention, even if the phillies HAD won last night, they still wouldn't have won the world series yet...

Your opinion please on Journal Inquirer seeks names of New Haven ID card applicants?
Q. Manchester, Conn. -- The managing editor of the Journal Inquirer newspaper is asking the state Freedom of Information Commission to order New Haven officials to disclose the names of applicants for controversial municipal identification cards. The ID cards are believed to be the first in the country specifically designed to bring illegal immigrants out of the shadows and give them access to community services. But they are available to all city residents. The program was created to help people without state- or federal-issued IDs open bank accounts and use other services that would otherwise be inaccessible. A. Usually places that you have already opened an acct with will only ask for the last four of your social to verify that you are the acct holder. never give your SSN over the phone, especially if the company called you. There is no way to verify that they are who they say they are. Also, don't give out other personal information, date of birth, or mother's maiden name unless you are sure you are dealing with the people they say they are.

Philadelphia Inquirer headlines Impeach Cheney now! What do you think?
Q. The allegations that he abused power are credible. Last month, the House of Representatives voted to send a resolution of impeachment of Vice President Cheney to the Judiciary Committee. As members of the House Judiciary Committee, we strongly believe these important hearings should begin. The issues at hand are too serious to ignore, including credible allegations of abuse of power that, if proven, may well constitute high crimes and misdemeanors under the Constitution. The allegations against Cheney relate to his deceptive actions leading up to the Iraq war, the revelation of the identity of a covert agent for political retaliation, and the illegal wiretapping of American citizens. Now that former White House press secretary Scott… [cont.]
